Glass, Uno, and Nakie People

Sipping on a papaya pineapple smoothie and staring at the mounds of sea glass coloring the desk, I realised how fantastic the day had been.

Sunlight streamed through windows, begging for people to venture into the outdoors. So properly beckoned, Io and I traversed to the cove that is becoming so familiar to us. The wind whipped us about as we sat the gigantic rock sitting at the shore's edge, the waves lapping at its foot, sand crabs causing bubbles as the water pulled back. We focused our attention at the emerald and sapphire ocean before us when we realized there were several unclad people on the beach, especially when one said potbellied fellow stood directly to our right, hands behind his head, displaying what god gave him for all the world to see. There were lines of pebbly sand in the beach where the stones had ground broken bottles into smooth and salted glass, causing trails to light up in the ground where the sun's light reflected on the mosaic pattern.

With a full bag and sandy feet, our stomachs called for sustenance. Ending up at a fast food joint we munched on chicken and fries as we played Uno. At one point almost the entire deck was split between our two hands. Eventually the dramatic game ended, and I was named victor. Poor Io. Hehe.

Then we walked our ways to the Boardwalk where it was a ticket per ride, all the fun but less hurt on a college student's wallet. We crazily started off on the Great Dipper, excitement and nervousness filling the veins while waiting in the line. I had forgotten how fun amusement parks can be, especially wooden rollercoasters which used to be my favorites. I love the sound of the cars on the tracks, the whooshing feeling of the air below as it drops. Laughter and screams of joy filled the air as we went from ride to ride, till tired but happy we dragged ourselves back to good old downtown.

Very very wonderful day, and soon sleep shall envelop me.
