for other folks in AZ

So, you're supposed to update your registration and drivers license every time you move. Of course no one (meaning me) ever bothers to do this. Well guess what, I got screwed in the last election because my ID wasn't current. I had been removed from the list at the location where I had voted before, and none of the well-meaning ancients working the polling place could figure out where I was supposed to go. I drove all over the damn city, was finally allowed a provisional ballot, and when my updated registration card came in the mail a few weeks later, sure enough I had put in my provisional at the wrong precinct, which means after all that effort, my vote was not counted.

So if your information is actually up to date or if you are confident that what happened to me will not happen to you, then good for you. If not...

Here is where you can update your voter registration: update your voter registration. If you are going to do it, do it NOW, since it takes 4-6 weeks to get your confirmation letter back. That puts us at mid-October, which only gives you 2 weeks of anxious phone calls to get that shit straightened out when it is inevitably screwed up.

And here is where you can plug in your address to find out where to vote in your precinct. This way, when you are turned away from your old polling place, you can go home, get your two pieces of mail with your name and current address on them, and actually go to the right place.

You're welcome.
