STEELERS PARADE!!!
That was freaking AMAZING!!!
I didn't realize the Steelers Rally/Parade was going to be so huge! Supposedly, 40,000 were expected... lemme tell ya it definitely looks like the 200,000 + estimate is not far off!
When I realized how huge it was becoming, I decided to risk trouble and run down on my lunchbreak from work in Oakland. I bought a pack of smokes, a disposable camera and a Dr. Pepper (with a winning cap!)... Lou picked me up and we zipped downtown to my "secret" and always reliable parking place...
Saw Joey Porter, Hines Ward, and Bettis' parents... a few other players but they were turned away from us the whole time.... no Jerome, Troy or Ben though.... We're on Hines Ward's video camera! Along with the rest of Pittsburgh! hahahha.....
Used the whole camera and took a few on my phone too; will post once developed if anyone's interested...
The news coverage did not do the crowd justice. Solid bodies from the bridge to the park and up Penn and Liberty.... people in trees and on top of traffic light poles... massive sea of black and gold swarming downtown.... AND I made it back to work in under an hour! Hell ya!
To all the people who bitch about this city... and have called me crazy for loving it here and wanting to stay... All the people who thought we'd never get one for the thumb... all the sore losers bein' poor sports and tryin' to diminish our victory....
