Cut for spoilers.
- Wow, I bet the special effects people had a BALL with the sand effects for Sandman. (And yes, you can definitely tell that they were having some fun.)
- Tobey Maguire trying to be "cool" = LAWL.
- James/Harry: "...They're my best friends. I would DIE for them."
Me: ...Oh, great. Nice foreshadowing, Harry. Thanks.
- Stan Lee, as some random old guy on the street: "YOU CAN DO IT, SPIDEY. DON'T GIVE UP, KID."
ROTFL, THNX FOR THE ADVICE, STAN.
- Bruce Campbell as the Maître d’ = WIN.
- J.K. Simmons = a most excellent J. Jonah Jameson, as per usual. ^_^
- Just a small 'lol' at Farmer Hoggett (James Cromwell) from Babe as Captain Stacy.
And speaking of Stacy, Gwen was beautiful. Such cool, cat-like eyes. *_*
- The amount of slapstick humour in this film was just...ridiculous. I enjoyed it, and I laughed, but it was still ridiculous.
- Houseman: *to Harry* "I loved your father..."
Me: *SNRK*
Houseman: "...Just as I have loved you since you were a small child."
Me: ... *staring at screen, horrified, hands cupped over mouth* O.O
...Toooo much time spent around Orochi-baby and his innuendos, methinks...
- Spidey: *DRAMATICALLY RUNS IN FRONT OF THE BILLOWING AMERICAN FLAG*
Me: Well, they killed off Captain America--someone's gotta do it.
- Kirsten/MJ: *drops a cinder block on Venom's head*
Me: THE GIRL DID SOMETHING. FINALLY. ...Maybe not the smartest something, considering that cinder block woulda pasted Petey-dear in the face if Venom had moved his head at all, but at least it was something.
- Harry: "Hey, Pete! I changed my mind, I'm here to help!"
Me: You IDIOT. You're an ex-villian! When you start working WITH the good guy? First-class ticket to the morgue. ...Although this *does* give you the opportunity to fulfill that lovely foreshadowing from earlier and die for your friends.
- Venom's "tendril" things...at one point, I leaned over to my roomie and whispered "TENTACLE RAPE." 8[ This imagery was not helped when it pinned him in a spread-eagle position, or when these lines were said:
Tobey/Pete/Spidey: "Eddie! Take off the suit!"
Topher/Eddie/Venom: "Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't ya!"
Me: *wince/twitch*
- *Pete and Harry working together*
My roomie: *leans over and whispers* "Aww, they're so cute together!" XD
Me: "Hey, don't forget MJ, too--OT3, oh yeah!" XD
- Was it just me, or did Spidey take an insane amount of punishment, only to bounce back as if nothing had happened to him? I mean, I know he's uber-strong because of the radioactive spider bite thing, but...I didn't realise that "strength" was equated with "endurance."
But then again, I don't read the Spidey comics, so I dunno. I'm totally a Batman girl.
So.
Movie #1 was about - RESPONSIBILITY.
Movie #2 was about - BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF. (AND PRIORITIES, AND KEEPING THEM STRAIGHT.)
Movie #3 was about - CHOICES. YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE, KIDS. REMEMBER THAT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET TURNED INTO A GIANT LIVING SAND SCULPTURE.
