Memories appear on paper as her tears flow from shallow eyes
Times of guidance, when she was once happy (your brilliant smile)
Sharing her moments with someone who always thought of her
But, who was she to open lips and speak this to him
Her silent screams were a poor choice of words
They never came with ease, only hurting eyes
So she lays awake at night, wondering (what if)
I'll leave a single star for him in the night sky
She whispers "I can't last a lifetime caught between here and him"
While carving his name across her arm and every prayer
She'll be begging for another day to come full circle
Allowed one more chance to extend her words with caution
But it'll never arrive as he passes in his sleep
And I awoke to the sounds of her crying (pray for us all)
