It has been awhile.

Yesterday, I managed to sign up for my classes. I'm retaking my math class, as well as taking the next Child Development class. I won't start these classes until the end of August, which is next. All I have left to do is pay for the classes, which I will be doing sometime this week, and buy my book for my Child Development class, which I can't do until mid-August when my school posts the required book. I won't have to buy a math textbook as I still have the one from last semester.

My adviser helped me pick out a good teacher.

I tried to convince myself that my last teacher was "okay", but looking back he was a a bit of a jerk. Each class period he would basically call us lazy, and berate the class for not doing well enough. We were apparently the worse class he ever had, and he told us that we should just drop the class because we'll be taking it next semester with him. I kept thinking, "Well, if the whole class is not doing so well, why not try to find out why?" Sometimes it is a combination of factors.

Were there students who didn't pay attention? Sure. Some of my classmates texted and/or left class early, but these students were NOT the entire class. If you have a problem with certain students, talk to them outside of class. Do not waste 10 or 15 minutes ranting how we should all drop the class, and that we do nothing but text and sleep.

We were far behind because 1) the teacher was letting us out early for two weeks, despite students pointing this out, 2) snow days and 3) we missed a day of class due to a tornado drill.

I had to deal with a similar teacher back in my freshmen year of high school. That teacher would spend class periods talking about his period issues, how lazy we were, and that he wanted to move back to Germany as he felt the students there were better. I was told by him I would never be more than a 'C' math student, which I have proved wrong several times since then. I remember talking to a teacher about him, but nothing really came of it.

I was passing the class with a 'C' before the final, which I didn't do good on. I studied my ass off.

I know I need to learn to speak up in situations like this. I think next time I will consult an adviser.
