also this thanksgiving i did a brave thing:
i told my dad i was on birth control
dad: i know. haven't you been on birth control since you were 12 to regulate your period?
me: who told you that?
dad: your mom, i guess.
me: well, either she was lying to you or you made that up to make yourself feel better. that's not true.
dad: oh. did she lie to me?
me: maybe.
dad: i wonder why.
me: yeah.
dad: are you sure? weren't you on birth control before you were sexually active?
me: PANIC, DAD KNOWS I AM SEXUALLY ACTIVE, PANIC
um. no. i mean. no.
dad: oh. okay.
