Comics, a Disorganized Mind, and OMG SO CLOSE TO BEING FREE OF VERIZON CRAPPY NET

Feb 03, 2011 01:10

I am just so excited right now I could almost cry, because tomorrow (really it should have been tonight but...), tomorrow the day has finally arrived when we switch from shitty Verizon 5G download limit MiFi to reportedly way better Verizon DSL which maybe word of mouth won't be all what it's cracked up to be, but just the thought of being able to download VD screencaps so I can maybe icon and layout and EVERYTHING OH MY. ... I just jizzed in my pants. I mean supposedly we're supposed to be able to download in one hour as much as we're allowed to download in one month right now. Sweet, tasty relief. I swear, the internet and I have such a sordid history I'll be walking on the moon tomorrow. PLUS THAT BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT TOPIC OF COMICS. I AM GOING TO COMB PIRATE BAY FOR COMICS NO JOKE.

However, I really hate reading them on my computer (downloading does expedite ze icon making however). Maybe if I had gone the step up to gargantuan like Anna's then they'd fit perfectly on my screen; however, at the moment this is not the case. So right now I'm perusing Amazon seeing what I can get and for what prices (right now Amazon is winning the price race). The recent icon post at CheeseTart(tm) has further ignited my passionate lusting after Batman comics. Anna just wants me to spend all of my money on comics and never come back to Indiana ever again, lol. Anyway today I bought Batman Beyond 1 and 2 which is a wee bit disappointing, because the artwork isn't quite the same style as the show yet not super fantastically different either. At this point I'm willing to go with it; maybe it just needs to get into its groove. The second comic was definitely more of the stuff that I love from the show. I'm not a huge fan of the futuristic JLA so maybe it just needs to move past the first arc. It doesn't have to be perfect as long as they get Terry and Bruce's relationship down. I also bought the first two issues of Batman Inc. today and I'll be starting Batwoman once they release it and not push it back hopefully. Now I'm looking at the new Batman and Robin comics on Amazon and looking at Red Robin, basically I'm going to go after the whole Bat Family, lol.

I also ridiculously love Deadpool and am going to go after Deadpool Corps, and Wolverine and Jubilee looks promising (Jubilee was a vampire, WTF?) I also was looking at X23 and thinking fondly of Anna, and I really enjoyed the Spidey comic you sent me so that might be on the list too. Plus Marvel is having a new event. FEAR ITSELF, maybe I'll get in on that business. Basically most all comics are awesome, and I will never have enough money *sigh*. On the other hand I'm really, really, really looking forward to ComicCon this year. It will be more meaningful than ever before. I could light a candle and sway, but I'll pass at the moment.

I had a thing for the disorganized mind bit of the title, but I don't really have anything to go with that. I felt like I did have a thing and it had something to do with Vampire Diaries or that maybe have something more to with my obsessive tendencies to love fantasy men and know that no real man can ever live up to my fantastical expectations. I'm currently watching Being Human and I realize that between this, Vampire Diaries, and True Blood (not to mention my other love affairs with different vampire stories) I really have a thing for the hot and the undead apparently... issues... me? Never...

Though Being Human I'm not super invested in. Vampire Diaries is certainly in the lead for my vampire infatuation. I guess comics are just the next step, lol. How I doth love me some artistic talent.

I'm hoping Supernatural is going to make a comeback in my personal tv popularity polls. I'm ready for Sam and Dean to have closure between the two of them if nothing else. I mean Stefan and Damon have this open animosity towards one another that can be continually entertaining. Sam and Dean have reached their quota for that sort of thing.

So right now my top shows are Castle and Vampire Diaries with Supernatural coming in at a close third. It's just hard too, because everything has been on hiatus (like right now, I haven't seen an ep of SPN for FOREVER it seems like so that attributes to my apathy) not to mention the proliferation of new stuff really hasn't impressed me. Being Human is okay, but it kind of needs to move along beyond the characters as a plot point. The Cape is interesting, kinda quirky, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean it's just kind of a generic super hero show. "Hey let's take a little bit of Marvel and DC and make a show out of it!" mmmm, eh.

Oh, now I remember, the disorganized bit had to do with comics actually. It's daunting the amount of material that is out there. It's just scary trying to just even peruse it all. I think the reason I haven't really touched my comics folder on my computer is that it's been a)frustrating that I can't even pursue anything digitally due to our net limitations b) once again I have an expensive habit in the making. However, now the internet portion of the problem will be fixed, and hey if I get hired at Kaiser then maybe the money part too. I'd be making twice what I make now at the least (probably twice what I was making at Christmas but more than twice what I'm making now though my hours aren't bad). I will miss my Target discount, but really I don't think I'd want to be a higher up in retail. Somebody should have told me to pursue a library sciences degree five years ago, lol, I may have missed my calling yo. It seems peaceful, just the books and I don't have to deal with any annoying people, haha. Anyway, I hope my tax return money gets here before I do have to give up the discount, of course, it won't matter if Target won't get with the program and sell the new Xbox console that /I/ want. *grumble, grumble, grumble* Always something... lol. Then I'll save the rest for Labyrinth and ComicCon! Fweeee!

Go me, I posted again. Yay trends. :)
