Heartbeat Chapter 2
Here's chapter two, I know it's pretty short, but I'll have a nice sized chapter 3 since things will start to take off.

"Judging from the Lady Gaga concert I went to a few months back on my day off, I think she said no one can read her Poker Face."
"With that said, by the looks I'm getting as I'm walking down the hall, I definitely know everyone can read my Panda eyes."
I just barely make it into work the next morning. I could hardly sleep the night before. Thoughts of him were in my head. "And I'm not even working with him today. I'm working with old fart Honda Sensei who wears the weird cologne and calls me "old sport" That tips my creepy scale." I try my best to perk myself up a bit before my shift starts, and to my surprise and great luck, those "predators" aren't here in the staff room. "Good, I wasn't looking forward to being undressed with their eyes this early in the morning anyways." Taking a look at the clock I notice that I have about half an hour before my shift with Honda Sensei begins, so I decide I can take a little cat nap beforehand. Putting my head down on the table with a plop, I close my eyes and let out a groan.
"Someone's had a long night again I assume?"
"You don't even know, and I have to work with that old fa-" "Wait a minute, that voice sounds familiar. too familiar." "AH!!! G-Good Morning Sakurai Sensei!" I go to bow my head and forget that I'm sitting, so I end up smacking my head right with the table.
"Ten points for the HARDCORE.FAIL. " Rubbing the soon to be rhinoceros horn on my head I notice that he's giggling. Giggling pretty hard.
"ADORABLE!"
"I'm glad my pain brings you amusement." I say with a smirk as I stand up. "Oh yeah, I'd like to mention, I keep it cool."
"No no, it's just...you're a very funny person Matsumoto-san."You're too nice to me Sakurai san." I want to continue the conversation, but looking at the clock, I see that there's only 5 minutes until my shift. "Ah! I need to go, I have my shift with Honda Sensei today."
"Oh, the shifts we're changed around last minute, you're working with me today again."
"This would be the part where I squeal like a little girl now." "Oh really? Well then, lets work our hardest today." "Safe."
What I realized today while working with him, that he's not only a great surgeon, he's a caring man too. While we were the rehab ward, there wasn't a moment where he wasn't talking to a patient or cheering someone who was down. This didn't help my thoughts as they were already centered around him,now they were increased ten-fold.
"I need to get to know him more."
"I just need that one chance, don't I?"
At the end of the day, I was walking past the nurse's station on my way out, when I was suddenly called out.
"You must be one special boy hun." "Oh how I wish she didn't call me hun all of the time." "Why do you say that?"
"Sakurai Sensei changed the shift schedule this morning so that he could work with you. He wouldn't take any excuse not to change it."
"Really? You don't say...." " Hey! Why are you smirking?"
"He's into you, I know it hun." "I don't know what you're into, but I think you should go for it."
"Whatever you say. Thanks for the info though." "Of course I play it off with a smile, but she's right, this is my chance."
As I'm heading out, just like a cheesy teen movie, I bump into Sakurai Sensei. Immediately, I waste no time with getting to the point.
"Hey. Um, you know, I was wondering, since we're co-workers and all, do you want to grab something to eat after work tomorrow? I'm off for the day, but I can meet up with you here." "Yes Jun, points to you for sounding like a high school girl." I wrap my scarf around myself a little tighter and play with the fringes as I wait for either my impending rejection, or utter happiness.
"Sure. Sounds like a great idea to me."
"THANK YOU WHATEVER DIVINE ENTITY IS OUT THERE!"
"Well then, we'll meet up tomorrow, I know a great place in town." "Oh, and by the way, call me Jun."
"Okay. See you tomorrow then, Jun" "And you can call me Sho."
"Ohhhh, first name basis. I think I did something right."
"Well, you have a nice evening Sho-san." We soon depart ways on this chilly night, but I'm feeling warm from the happiness.
"This is my chance. I either make it, or fall on my ass trying."
"I hope you're ready Sho-san"
In the next chapter, things will speed up just a tad and will most likely heat up a bit ;)
