End of Ramadan

Oct 24, 2006 08:27

As doctor was telling me, technically the americans should be celebrating today (since it is after 1am) instead of yesterday (23rd). Because the end of Ramadan is just now being celebrated in the middle east... whatever, not my religion... just means I had Monday off.

So this has worked out, called in Sat, Sun off, Mon off. Our office was in fact open this afternoon as doc had said, but I guess either they misunderstood my message where I said I could come in Monday afternoon b/c surgery's not till Thurs, or if doc just asked Liz to come in 'just in case'. Either way when I talked to him Sat around noon he said he'll see me Tues afternoon, cool. So after sleeping most of the day (Mon) Shawn and I actually got something done! Amazing. We went to Whole Foods yet again, and I got some stuff to help relieve my back pain/ other aches & pains.
Since I knew anything really 'good' is going to require a prescription I started searching for natural stuff that I can get OTC. I came across this stuff called 'formula 303' but couldn't find where to get it here. So I wrote down the active ingredients, did a few more searches, found another thing and went to Whole Foods to (hopefully) find them.

One thing I got is called Kava Kava. It's supposed to be a pretty good relaxant. (My target was "muscle relaxant" type properties) To make it even better its used in places like Hawaii :D That always scores points with me.
The other thing I got is Valerian [valeriana officinalis]. It was one of the ingredients of that formula 303 stuff (the other 2 were Passion Flower [Passiflora incarnata] & Magnesium), and I had read on a message board that its good for things like leg cramps too (so a muscle relaxant type). I'm getting that its used mostly as a sleep aid, which I also need sometimes. I've actually refrained from getting any sleeping pills because I'm afraid of becoming dependant on them... which for me is very likely.

Anyone heard of these things? Or tried them? Just looking for some feedback/personal experience.

I took a Kava Kava tablet earlier, it helped a lot. I'll let y'all know what my endorsement status is on it in the next few days. I'm gonna take the Valerian before bed (soon) so I'll let ya know how that goes too.

After WFs we came back home, grabbed all our clothes and went to the laundromat. We haven't been able to wash all of our clothes since.... uh... before the truck died (end of Feb). So we had a lot to wash. Got all our clothes done, washed a set of flannel sheets, the comforter and the cover. Tomorrow we're taking the rest of the bedding, towels, rabbits' rugs & blankets, and the clothes we missed today. Then everything will be cleeeeeaaaan!! Woot!

Ahhhh, having a car again rocks.

Tomorrow mom's coming by to get her lighters that stowed away in the bag with my sodey pop and one of the books she let me borrow awhile back. I'm gonna give her her other books I have too. Then work at 3. Need to pay off rent tomorrow. Shawn's taking the car to work *weary* but its not too far sooo....

Shawn's been cleaning up since we got home... straightened up the 'dining room' area, got all the left over laundry together, I cleaned out all the litterboxes, and he's been sweeping the carpet (all the hay/territory poos/fur, fur, fur). The apartment looks pretty nice right now :D

Oh yes, and Rew Brat bit me. >.<
I was gonna straightening up his cage, picked up his slinky, he tried to box it, I set it on his shelf, and next thing I know I have a rabbit attatched to my arm right at my wrist. I grabbed his scruff with the other hand and after a good 30secs or more he finally released my arm. Son of a -- Ouch!
I hate getting bit, rabbit bites burn, cat bites sting, dog bites just hurt. But I'll take a rabbit bite over most other animal injuries I receive...

LJ Question Of The Day(/Week/Month...)

List the injury from most painful to least painful (IYO), and indicate the one(s) you'd most prefer to receive.

Options:
>Cat Scratch
>Dog Scratch
>Rabbit Scratch
>Cat Bite
>Dog Bite
>Rabbit Bite

I'm curious about how others feel pain.
Ok, I'm curious about people period. Lol.

rabbits, work, shopping
