Imagine someone punching you in the face, "Oh fuck! i got punched in the face... Who the hell did it? They're going down!" Same idea (with a few political strings cut out)
This item, although seemingly big and scary, but to me its pretty much worthless. All it was was a bunch of dudes who were trying to think of ways to ensure safety while simultaneously achieving a higher approval rating (secureing another term with a republican president, no doubt). It seems to me that they discussed it further and came to a compromise that warrantless searches would spook the american people too much, but electronic searches (since people are more afraid of technology) would not, therefore accomplishing that goal of Presidential approval. Now i have a very deep contempt for the US patriot act, don't get me wrong. I just think this was a knee jerk reaction to 9-11 that didnt reach its full potential (thank God).
