Stolen from lizbuf for entertainment purposes.

1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up.
A post-it note with some login details I can never remember, an empty mug of coffee I've just drunk, a gold lucky waving cat that doesn't wave anymore because I need to change the battery, some haribo and an on-going crochet project.

2. How do you style your hair?
Wash, dry with a towel, run a comb through it when it's mostly dry. That's about as technical as it gets.

3. What are you wearing now?
DPM-ish pattern trousers, long sleeved t-shirt and a purple hooded top. Slippers. Dr Who socks.

4. What's your occupation?
Civil Servant of vague description, allegedly. I should really drop the allegedly since I've been working for the same organisation for nearly three and a half years now!

5. What do you hear right now?
No music on at the moment so just quiet boiler noises. A minute ago I heard a hamster running in his wheel downstairs but he seems to have gone back to sleep - sensible ham.

6. Who was the last person you hugged?
Probably my parents. I generally only hug under duress!

7. What is/was for dinner?
I'm still pondering. Either some beefy stew of gorgeousness that I made yesterday or something from the freezer since I'm trying to clear some freezer space.

8. What did you do today?
Up early for a Saturday (8:15am, though I overslept since I was supposed to be up at 7:45am) then went over to friends and we all went to Bristol Zoo, where we saw baby lion cubs, a baby tapir and hand-fed lorikeets with little cups of nectar. T'was very cool and the lorikeets mobbed us for the nectar and one sat on my head. It would have made an awesome fascinator at a wedding...

9. Dog person or cat person?
Love both, but cats are my fave by a whisker.

10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
From Nicola to Nicole, but I would claim it was pronounced Nicola...

11. What was the last thing that you bought?
Some broccoli, leeks, bananas and a bag of white chocolate buttons.

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would quite like to see other bits of the US beyond the North East NY/Boston/DC areas, Canada, and most other English-speaking areas too. And Antarctica.

13. Where do you see yourself in five years?
God only knows! Maybe with superpowers, having became the first president of the world due to my ability to control the thoughts of others.

14. Favorite book?
Just about all of them. I'm just about to start the Amber Spyglass again in my re-reading of His Dark Materials and they are all pretty awesome although they make me cry. But also LOTR, Sherlock Holmes, anything by Bill Bryson, Harry Potter, even airport reading like Tom Clancy. I just can't stop!

15. What are you doing this weekend?
Been to the zoo. Need to do some chores like ironing (boo!) and my gerbils need some tank-rearranging. Also need to do more work on my OU understanding the weather course and should really give my bike a clean.

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
Guitar is very practical, and piano is quite impressive, but I do quite like the violin. Or something totally random like an accordian.

17. How are you?
Bit knackered, slightly sore feet. Disinclined to do the chores I should be doing.

18. What are you doing tomorrow?
See above.

19. What are you looking forward to the most?
Something nice for tea, being lazy, getting some stuff done when I feel less lazy, reading the Amber Spyglass.
