Before the storms arrived on Sunday my lower back ached like fuck, I was unstable when I walked, pain made me feel dizzy and faint.
When the thunder, lightning, and wind were raging last night, my lower back felt better. Not great, but far less pain and instability.
Today, after the storm has cleared, my back is almost back to normal.
Weather changes have become an intense ordeal. I can readily understand why older folks become dependent upon drugs like acetaminophen, which treat symptoms, even though those drugs can lead to more & more health complications, and shorten their lives.
Coming thru my little ordeal makes me want both a reclining chair for work, a computer table at home so I can use the spiffy adjustable computer chair I bought years ago when I had $$ for impulse buys, and a different horizontal surface upon which to sleep. My sleeping pad was meant to be something for house guests to spend a night or two upon - not something to use every day for more than 5 years.
Perhaps my new domicile will already have a bed. If not, I shall buy a new mattress. Given my druthers, I want a new mattress, but I can stomach a used bed to save money if I must do so. Likewise, configuring my apartment for a spiffy computer desk and reclining seat can wait until I am settled in my new home in January. I have everything I need (desk, chair) now. Hopefully one of my rooms can will be devoted to computer and internet use.
My body and I agree that a reclining chair at work is a much more immediate priority. Making $$ between now and Thanksgiving may allow me to buy a chair locally, if they are in stock this time of year. If not, I have links to what appear to be acceptable chairs via the internet.
Today I measure what wood I need to buy on Thursday to cover the drainage chasm in my spiffy wagon storage nook, and hopefully pay my electric bill (if Unique Grocery is open on election day).
