Touching Base

Oct 14, 2012 15:42

When I began this moving process I had no idea it would entail so much touching base with others to keep everyone abreast with developments.  Today I am touching base with numerous people.  Luckily I decided to take the day off because the weekend was so shitty economically.  Actual days off will have to wait until the move is a done deal.

Hi Melanie,
FEMA inspector was here a short while ago. On a Sunday afternoon! I should hear back in 7-10 days on whether they will pay $$ for rent and deposit on a new place.  No idea yet if they will pay, or how much. My plan is still to move in early January, but knowing how much they will pay me to move would take a lot of pressure off me.

I keep fiddling around with packing up my new wagon.  Thanks to Eric, I finally got it so all 4 sides are locked vertical.  So it will be more stable for long hauls.  Wagon now fits much more easily into the tight storage place here I still want to keep it here after I move so I do not need to haul it back and forth every work day, but that decision is not mine to make.  I figure the more compact I can make the wagon, the easier it will be for me get the Khans to agree to me keeping my wagon here after I move.  I'll send a pic when Kelleigh takes one of the wagon in its parking nook.

I spoke with a fellow reader who used to use a trike and cart.  She switched to a motorcycle because her trike only wnt 5 mph so it took her over an hour each way to commute from home to work.  So a trike with multiple gears would be far more ideal than a trike with a single low speed gear ratio. 3 speed trike would be ideal.  No need for a 10 speed. as New Orleans is flat.  350 pound payload will do for me plus bundles.

I'll see you when next you are in town!

wagon, new home magickal working, trike, posting from home on crippled computer, big move
