WTF!?! Hooray!
Things turn out better than I plan.
My winamp has been playing music non-stop for at least 4 hours now. Same network utilization as the past several days. No spectacular link speed. Oh, the signal gets lost now and then, but the music comes back on automatically when winamp re-loads the shoutcast station. No recent updates to Winamp. No change in shoutcast radio station. No fiddling around by me required.
My screensaver (a blank screen) has not worked since my computer was repaired. It never turns on, no matter how long my system is dormant. It used to work just fine.
I have been using a kludge. I leave the screen saver settings window on my desktop & press the preview button every time I plan to be away from the computer or take a nap.
But this does not permit me to use the screen saver to remind me I have dozed off while sitting at the computer - which happens a lot. I go into trance mode while contemplating a post I am writing or a problem I am working on.
Tonight, I dozed off ~2-1/2 hours ago. The screen saver kicked in and ran with no problems while I had supplements and food.
The more I learn the intricacies of windows, the more I realize how clueless I am.
