Snow Day!
Thanks to about a foot of snow outside, we've come up with various ways to keep ourselves amused today.
First thing, Katie and I went through all her books and pulled out about 40 to sell.
Then we came downstairs and fixed some breakfast and were amazed at how much snow is out there.
It's been snowing hard for over a day now - this was taken this morning and it snowed another 8 hrs after that!
The fence isn't normally so "short" :)
We baked some cakes - a square one and a bunch of bite-sized mini-cupcakes.
Then the neighbors knocked on the door. The dad has a snow blower and the son's baseball team is taking a trip, so the whole family is out cleaning driveways today and accepting donations. Oh HECK yeah! So my driveway is all spiffy clean (or was, it's STILL snowing) and the girls had a great time playing outside.
Their youngest girl and my girlie are about a year apart and have been little buddies for 5 years! They're like salt and pepper - so cute together!
Katie came in after an hour outside (a record for her) - all rosy pink and sopping wet legs. A cup of warm tea and a blanket warmed her right up!
It's been a full day and it's only 5:30! I vote for a movie and early bed!
