Not just a pretty face...
Silliness aside (well he IS gorgeous, even aunt coni agrees!) ... so that is what drew my attention to Juanes, but why I keep LISTENING is a different matter.
Juan was born and raised in Columbia and his songwriting reflects both the beauty and darkness of his troubled country. In the past 7 years he's won several Latin Grammy's and his songs have gone gold and platinum around the world. Pretty impressive considering he refused to go mainstream - he was told he'd never go anywhere if he kept writing about things like land mines, and yet there he is. I admire people who stay true to their gifts and use their talents - be it writing music, novels, painting, even blogging :) - to work towards The Good.
