Miss K and I have had a lovely day. We headed down to the "KidZone" place to meet at least 2 other families for a play date - but no one else made it. One was my ex #1 and I've enjoyed calling him a Big Wuss. My little RAV4 made it down and back with no problems at all. Katie spent hours playing and exploring, she loves that place. She had a couple run ins with some older boys (I think both sides were being equally bull-headed) - she was getting tired and the sun was going down, so we headed out a little early. No point hanging around while the roads ice back over, eh? On the way back we stopped at a favorite bookstore then moseyed on home. All in all a lovely time.
I read another of Don Miguel Ruiz's books, this one was "Mastery of Love". He's the one that wrote "The Four Agreements" that struck such a chord with me. This one didn't grab me quite so much - I wish I'd just checked it out of the library but no, I had to go to Amazon and click on stuff like a madwoman :) It spends a lot of time talking about healing your own emotional wounds and keeping your focus on your half of a relationship .. and this stuck in my mind - my paraphrasing, and apologies to Ruiz for mucking it up. "We hunt for love from others because we believe we need it, we don't have enough of it within ourselves. But the ones we seek to get love from are also wounded and do not have their own self-love. If they do not love themselves, then how much love can they give us?"
*Horshack voice - Ooooh! Oooh! I know! I know! *head desk
and in one of the world's most abrupt changes of topic - I HATE TARTAR SAUCE. If I WANTED that vile slimey stuff on my fish sandwich, I would NOT have said "make sure the sandwich is PLAIN". BLLLLLEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHH.
i got some very cool books but I'm gonna snuggle the kiddo, will talk more later :) *hugs all*
