My father, who, for reasons unknown, likes to enable my BBC- habit brought home
He Knew He Was Right. ( "I think some people you know are in this...") It's Saturday morning, and quite icky outside... so the cats and I piled into bed with blankets and coffee and settled into watch...
Thirty minutes into Episode One episode one, and there's been plenty to squee about. The cast includes
Bill Nighy, the crazy young which from the Who episode "The Shakespeare Code"... and and.. the lovely
Fenella Woolgar, and (be still my heart)
Stephen Campbell Moore (Mr. Irwin from The History Boys). Mmmm.
I could go on, but the list is too long... :P
That cast AND Andrew Davies wrote the screen adaptation. I was quite enjoying it- though it's your typical 19th century almost farce... and then THIS happened:
That HAT! Those FRECKLES! *Flappy Hands*
There was very nearly coffee everywhere. I had NO warning that he was in it- and very, very, VERY silly at that. It got me thinking that he'd be a fantastic Mr. Collins in Pride & Prejudice or... OH an Ichabod Crane, too.
Masterpiece Theater DVDs on a Snowy Saturday Morning AND David Tennant. What could be better?
Small Side Note: Is it a BAD thing when you can recognize most of the clips on the "One want's one's BBC?" BBC America preview??
