Thusly, pictures! Because I promised pepino21786

I had such a fantastic time @ work on Wednesday. We danced to the "Ghostbuster's" theme about 1094308 times. :) IT was awesome.

I really, really liked this movie. Now, a lot of you just rolled your eyes and said "Kate: Of COURSE you liked this movie- it's a musical where a lot of british people sing" It's probably a little bit true, but none the less, I adored it. Sure, there were flaws, but a lot of it was just really beautiful and uplifting. The video below pretty much demonstrates everything I loved about the movie:

See how pretty and colorful everything is? And the dancing? Everybody in the cast was fantastic, particularly Jim Sturgess and Joe Anderson, the two male leads. Dana Fuchs was also pretty amazing as Sadie. The music, obviously, was fantastic- and some of the prettiest Beatle's covers ever:

In particular:

"I've just seen a Face"

"Hey Jude"

"Let it Be"

"Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite:" (performed rather brilliantly by Eddie Izzard)

"With a little help from my friends"

And moving right along....

This is another "Feature" that I've been trying to get up forever, but just haven't managed to. However, since it's nearly time for November Sweeps, I thought I'd give it a go.

Here's stuff I've checked out/been watching:

Pushing Daises - Is easily the best, and certainly MY favorite of the new shows. The cast works together wonderfully- and is very convincing in their beautiful, fairly tale-esque world. The show leaves you feeling like you've just drank a warm cup of cocoa... but manages not to be sickly sweet. Anyway, watch it. You really won't be sorry.

Life- Yeah, Yeah. You all know I like this show... and I *still* like this show. The characters are interesting, it's got good writing, and is a rather original approach to the cop drama. I fear for it though, what with a possible writer's strike and all. :-/

Chuck- For the first couple weeks, I thought I might go bananas over this show. I didn't- but it's still incredibly enojyable to me. Chuck is incredibly believeable as a cluess "Nerd Herd-er" (which sounds like Nerf Herder. HA!). The interactions of the cast are all strong, and the storylines are fun... I just wonder how long they can go on "Stand alones" without having people get bored.

-Moonlight- Was pretty crappy. I suppose I should check out a couple more episodes for Jason Dohring's and Sophie's sake- but... I just couldn't get into it. I'm a little sad about it too, as the acting wasn't half bad- and the concept could of worked... but the writing? Not so much. I was tool-ishly amused though. Turns out that Sophie Myle's character was rescued as young girl. By this Immortal Guy (The lead vampire) who came out of her fireplace. This Immortal Guy who just happens to have been keep a close watch on her to keep her safe... Ahem. So, yeah. Thumbs down on Moonlight. Feel free, however, to enjoy Jason Dohring in suspenders...

Heroes- Is teetering on the edge for me. Don't get me wrong- I still like it... and there's been a LOT of great stuff so far this season. I adore Hiro's story line, and David Ander's is lovely as Hiro's Knight-in-Tarnished armor. Sylar's even better now that he's evil AND broken. Claire and her fly-boy are cheesy, but super cute. Like the beginning of Lost, last year though- they're focusing way too much on the 290382094 new characters they've added- and not quite enough on the people we know and love. That's just a HUGE personal pet peeve of mine. Still n' all, I'm on board. (Except that I really, really want to hire a dialect coach for some of the people attempting irish accents. Not that I can do much better, but dang.) Annnywhoo. :)

Scrubs- I'm already behind on! The premire was pretty dang funny though, and I'm super pleased that Elliot and JD didn't do anything stupid. *Nods*. The show still makes me happy. I can't help it.

Journeyman- I just cannot seem to get into this show, and I don't know why. Most of the characters seem inheriently unlikable. I dunno. *Shrugs* Maybe it's just that I have room for only one time traveling man in my life??

Other Shows I have yet to check out but want to: Dirty Sexy Money, Reaper, Dexter, and Life on Mars.

For fun, some Fic reccomendations:

*Torchwood*

kiltfriction's "Dead Poultry and the Pemanence of Ink"- Possibly the funniest, best, and most in character Jack/Ianto fic I've ever eread.

“Well I thought they’d be better stored in there than your office sir. You were less likely to discover them.”

“What are they doing in my Hub.”

“I’m staging a coup.”

“With dead turkeys?”

“You’ll never see it coming sir.” ... "“Ianto.”

“Yes sir?”

“I fear you.”

“Goodnight sir.”

“Yeah.”

*QAF*

sonnygrl11's "Don't Like Holding On, (But I Can't Let Go)"- GAH! So fantastic... and bar none, the best Michael POV... ever. Read and love. :)

*Dr. Who*

-the_sandwalker's "Dirty Laundry": On the TARDIS, even doing the laundry can be an adventure. Especially if it's Nine trying to help you...

*Fangirl/boy award of the week: Goes to Shaun, who lives across the pond... and is essentially my Fanboy Brother from another mother. *Nods* It's really true. A bonafied Dr. Who expert, BNL FAN, and my "dealer" for the whole Brit TV obsession I have going on. All that, and he lets me squee... but always makes me think a little before I do so. All that and he writes a pretty dang good blog himself! :)

* quill_2002 and I are toying with the idea of traveling across the pond in 2008 to see the RSC'S production of Hamlet (With a Mr. Tennant and a Mr. Patrick Stewart...Ahem). (Among other things, of course). I'm very, very excited by this prospect. We'll have to see where I am with bills, etc at the end of the year. *Crosses fingers*

*I haven't bought coffee from ANYWHERE in 3 weeks. As an experiment, I set side the money I would of spent on coffee... I now have $12. This will make it possible for me to buy BNL's DVD when it comes out on Tuesday with out a problem. Thought provoking, no?

* I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend! *Waves*

*Blows kisses to you all* Ta, everyone!

*A/N: Sorry there's not links for the TV shows: I reached my cut off point, and couldn't get them in... "Pushing Daises" can be found at ABC, "Moonlight" at CBS, and all the rest at NBC! :)
