unrelated events - maybe

1.  the pope talks largely about delinking violence from religion and quotes a centuries old emperor, admitedly an unwise move given the hair trigger situation nowadays.  groups around the world see only that quote aside for the main message and burn effigies of him, the leader of catholicism, a major world religion, demonstrating their marked respect for another religion.  have they inadvertently sealed others' already likely biased opinions of them and their more moderate brethren by these acts of theirs? is not respect for each other's religion the desired outcome and should this not be reciprocal?

2.  an army general, leads a coup against the thai prime minister.  in a mostly buddhist country, this general is not.

3.  i watched 'the devil wears prada' last night.  please everyone, "THAT'S ALL"
