recs: a cure through love and shameless on netflix

stewardess has written a thoroughly charming and wonderful story called A Cure Through Love, in which Carl Jung (played by Michael Fassbender in A Dangerous Method) takes as a patient a young Russian man, Valentin Bulgakov (played by James McAvoy in The Last Station) who suffers fits of hysterical sneezing; as he analyzes him, Carl takes an increasingly personal interest in Valentin. Inspired by gif sets like this and this and that, it's simply delightful, NSFW, ~8,000.

I recommend it regardless of whether you're into any of the associated fandoms; it's the kind of well-written, well-paced and satisfying story that I think just about any slash fan could enjoy.

If you are a fan of the XMFC stars, though, good news! James McAvoy's breakout role on British TV was in a series called Shameless, which is now viewable on Netflix Instant. In the very first episode McAvoy's character Steve has onscreen sex with Fiona, played by his lovely costar (and future wife) Anne-Marie Duff: as you might guess, they have wonderful chemistry. (And I seriously love that the first time Steve and Fiona have sex, she's on top and grabs him by the hair. Can't blame her there. He looks like he has very grabbable hair.)
