sga recs: nhmr productions, walk in the sun, ingenious dr. mckay
NHMR Productions, Inc. by apple_pi. (Also on DW.) NSFW. I've read nearly everything on the Giant McShep AU List and this AU still feels shiny to me! Rodney's a contractor who works with Teyla and ends up with an HGTV show with John as his co-host and Ronon as the director. There's antagonistic J/R flirting, and hooking up, and figuring things out: it's funny and real, with great lines like "John is about as publicly affectionate as Robocop." :D

I especially love this moment of negotiation: Dressing up has always just been about feeling beautiful. Rodney had given John a hopeful look and said, "Beautiful and powerful?" That made John's breath catch in his throat, and yeah, he thought he could make that work.
