If she had another chance, in another life or maybe just in another universe, Amber reckons she'd still be a rebel. The thrill that comes when she breaks a machine properly and disables trick wires fill her with a slight tingle and a wicked grin.
"You're pretty fucking amazing," Victoria says with some awe as she watches Amber type on the minute keyboard with her right hand and quickly flick through wires with her left.
"Maybe I was born with it," Amber half-sings, and Krystal snickers behind her. There's a satisfying beep.
"We're in. GO, go, go."
They slip in quietly, past the sensors and cameras, as stealthy as stealth could possibly get. The barcodes that label Victoria and Sulli as valid, actual people always sets Amber's teeth on edge when she sees them, but Krystal sees her and sends her a smile.
"One day," she says, and one day, Amber knows that she'll be acknowledged as a person, not as some product of human invention.
