Continuing Effort to Save Almost Human

Jun 08, 2014 14:31

1. We have two different promotions going on for Monday, 8 ET/PT #SaveAlmostHuman and #IAMAlmostHuman I suggest until we find a way to better coordinate our efforts that we do our best to tweet both hashtags IN SEPARATE MESSAGES so they don't cancel one another out as they will if posted in the same message.

2. Tuesday, one hour before airing in the UK, 3 PM ET/12 PM PT #SaveAlmostHuman

3. Promote links to the petition which is now over 27,000 http://www.change.org/petitions/save-almost-human.

4. Note ranking with 18-49 demographic (tied with Castle, ahead of Elementary), consistently six mill viewers despite toughest competition on TV (Voice, HIMYM and Olympics); international following, 5 year story plan, strong cast and crew, award winning show, strong growth potential.

5. Also note the diversity themes ie lead detective is amputee suffering from PSTD, a woman leads the team, two persons of colour in significant roles; also note ethically provocative stories about wealth disparity, health, genetic manipulation, domestic terrorism.

6. Ask for a movie or mini series to at least resolve: what's behind the WALL, who put organic memories into Dorian, is Anna really bad or being manipulated, etc

7. Note it's excellent syfy, great chemistry between leads, balance of drama and humour, and that we want our MXs back. ;)

8. Blitz WarnerBrosTV, CW Network, TWC, HBO (which are all affiliated), Netflix, Amazon, OWN, TNT, USA, CBC, ABC, NBC, bad_robot even FOXTV who could still reverse the decision. And anyone else you can think of, like JHWyman, Oprah, Ellen, TVGuide, Entertainment Tonight, Entertainment Weekly, Variety! And keep tweeting individual messages for points above for an hour, and retweet other messages that use the same hashtags.

9. Tell them we're not going to go away and we want Almost Human back.

10. Please don't give up. So long as the principals haven't signed contracts for new projects, there's still hope. This show had solid performance, more than enough to normally warrant renewal. I'm sometimes wonder if the themes of the show and the diversity represented by the characters didn't make FOX uncomfortable; Kevin Reilly had recommended renewal and it was the CEO who over-ruled him. In any case, Warner Bros and partner Time Warner have more than enough resources and venues to save the show if they think there's enough reason to do so.
