John's mention of being around and involved in the XRN debacle two years ago makes me wonder about the timeline. Sure, it could've happened just before Anna(sshole) blew him up, but...

According to the show and available bioblurbs, Kennex was in a coma for seventeen months; according to Maldonado, he suffered brain atrophy in addition to depression, PTSD, amnesia, and the loss of his leg. If the botched raid was two years ago and Kennex was under for seventeen months and the pilot insinuates that Maldonado had been trying to coax John back to work for a while, how long was his recovery period? There are seven missing months between him awakening from his coma and the start of the show, but that seems an awfully brief period for him to be so functional, modern medicine or not.

And what about the future's handling of disability as a whole? I'm guessing that most genetic and birth defects can be fixed, but what about people born before those technologies were the norm, or who had atastrophic accidents like John's? I don't see ramps or practical elevators or wheelchairs or captioning for the deaf or Braille for the blind. Do they just chuck the permanently-disabled folks over the Wall?

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if they did. I feel like something dark is just around the corner. Radiation infected half zombies? They've been building the idea of this wall up so much I might be disappointed if there are no zombies. Or it could be luddites. Or criminals. Or luddite criminals.

Also, killer chick in a corset and fishnets? Yes please.

I'd like to think that the future wouldn't be so heartless, and that decent folks like Kennex, Maldonado, and Stahl would protest hurling disabled, largely-defenseless people out to fend for themselves in some barren wasteland, but then again, if it's all they've ever known, why would they?

I suppose radiation could be a problem, but Vaughn wasn't in a Hazmat suit when he went over the Wall, and a concrete barrier alone wouldn't stop it from contaminating the rest of the city. If there was radiation there, it must have dissipated. That still leaves room for lawlessness, poverty, and marauding criminals and mutants, though.
