I have not previously seen Ms. Kelly in anything else, but what we saw of her in the pilot of Almost Human looked good!
Minka is the daughter of Aerosmith's Rick Dufay and is best known for playing cheerleader Lily Garrity on Friday Night Lights. She also played Eva French on Charlie's Angels and can be seen currently on the big screen in Lee Daniels' The Butler (where she plays Jackie Kennedy!). Before her acting career took off, she was a surgical assistant (despite her friends encouraging her to be a model): "I've held several feet of colon in my hand. I could definitely sew up your leg. And anyway, modeling wasn't for me. I'm too short. I've got a big butt. It wasn't going to happen." There's a nice article from Men's Health on her here. She was voted Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive in 2010 (article here).
So, clearly we can ALL start coming up with fabulous crossover ideas with her medical know-how ('cause there's a certain sexy, Southern doctor most of us are in love with!!!) And if THAT wasn't enough to get the fanfic juices flowing, guess who her boyfriend is?
That's right! Captain American himself, Mr. Chris Evans. (Can we take just a second to imagine Almost Human/Star Trek/Avengers crossovers? Okay, good. Carry on.)
The lovely couple were recently spotted having fun together at Disneyland!
