Artist Claims

Jun 16, 2014 06:00

It's art claim time!

Rule 1: You cannot claim unless you're signed up as an artist. To make this easier, the artist signup post is still open. It will close 24 hours after this post goes up.

We have three stories in the big bang. Details of them are below the cut.

Last time I checked we had more artist signups than that, so Patt and I will run this on the assumption that all those artists are going to make a claim. We said right from the start that signing up is considered a statement of intent, not a firm committment, so if you signed up and now no longer want to join in, that's your call. No problem. But we will ensure that every artist who wants to join in will get a story to work with, and that every story gets an artist.

"Art" for the big bang is interpreted very broadly - it means any kind of fanwork that is not the written word. You're not limited to images. We expect artists to communicate with the writers but this is not a commission - the artist has complete freedom on the artwork, just as the writer has freedom on her story.

Story #1
Title of work: Look At What The Bot Dragged In
Genre and rating: Slash, PG13
Warnings: Slight sexual context
Summary: Rudy is kidnapped. The guys find out more about the scientist than they ever dreamed.

Story #2
Title: Door Prizes for the Battered and Broken
Genre and rating: Gen, M for violence
Warnings: Choose not to warn
Summary: John is sure the doctors did their best to put him together again, but so many pieces are still missing.

Story #3
Title of work: Running on Empty
Type of work: Fiction
Genre and rating: Slash, Mature
Warnings: Brief but intense scenes of violence, suicide.
Summary: Plagued by nightmares and sleeplessness, John is given a stark choice - quit his job or get therapy and sort out his issues once and for all. At first, quitting seems like his best option, but thanks to his Dorian's stubbornness (and a little help from their friends) he finds he has something worth living for after all.

Since we've only got a small number of stories, there's not a lot of choice here. So you MUST claim at least two of the stories, and you MAY claim all three if you want to.

The claims post will close on Wednesday, and we'll confirm the art assignments as soon as possible after that.

If you have any questions, all the info can still be found in the sticky post at the top of the community page. If there's anything we haven't covered in those links, just ask below.
