Irish/Catholic + Honduran/Jew = comedic GOLD!

So alot has been going on. April is going to be a busy month for the group, so we've been planning and scheduling things like crazy! Yes, it's hectic, but when I stop to think about it, very exciting.

I guess the most exciting of everything we're planning is the awards banquet we're throwing on the 21st of April. I get excited by semi-formal banquets, as it requires me to go out and get myself a nice dress. Yay! In all honesty, I don't dress up much. Mainly because I'm a tired university student who couldn't be bothered dressing in anything other than a pair of jeans and a hoodie sweatshirt.

Anyways, the thing that is most exciting is that Lisa (our advisor) asked Julia and I to emcee the whole event. It may not seem like a big deal to any of you, but it is to me. And I'm sure to Julia also. It was kinda weird the way we were asked. We were just having a general conversation about the ceremony, how we were planning on everything going when Lisa started telling Julia and I how funny we were together. We are extremely silly together. It's nothing we plan on, I guess it's just our chemistry meshes well together. So then out of nowhere Lisa asks us if we'd like to run the banquet. She basically told us that seperately we're not that funny, but when we're together we're a great comedic duo. A backhanded compliment, yes, but.. um.. ok. She suggested that we script some things out, like sketches or something, that we could do during the banquet.

I feel completely honoured that she'd even consider asking Julia and I to do this, because it means that she believes that we have some sort of talent - enough so to entertain the people that will be attending this thing. That's always a nice feeling, when somebody believes in you.

But, now that we've essentially been asked to be funny, we've found ourselves having a really hard time trying to script things out. Here's the problem - the humour that Julia and I share is near impossible to script out. Our whole shtick is how we have the most randomest conversations and how we're able to bounce one-liners off each other. And even if we were able to put some of this stuff on paper, most all of it would be inappropriate. I mean, in all seriousness, people would be apalled and just get up and leave. *Sigh* We need to come up with some ideas quick.

Anyways...

Julia and I have decided to write a book together. And I say this in all seriousness. This could seriously work. We've already got a really good idea that we're excited to start working on. Don't ask what it is, because it's between her and I - we don't need you stealing our idea, ok buddies? Don't even do the "Who, me?!" bit. Yeah you. Pft.

I mean, I really think Julia and I could make it big together - like the female version of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Hey, we're all from Massachusetts! Coincidence? I think not... that's just fate. :-P I'd be the Matt Damon of the pair, because his acting career is still going well. And honestly, between Julia and I, I think it's more likely that Julia would be dating J.Lo and not me. *Ahem* Think about it.
