i have some questions surrounding the metal band practicing upstairs.
this band has practiced fairly on and off over the course of the year, and i must admit they have steadily progressed in their ability to play together. the problem, as i see it, is that they've gotten steadily better at playing particularly sucky-ass music. is this an accomplishment? is at better to be proficient at playing music that sucks, or is it better to suck at playing music that sucks? by getting better, they seem to be implying that people in this building might actually enjoy their sound.
they enjoy themselves, anyway, which is cool. i certainly dont begrudge them that. nor am i saying that no one likes bland, annoying slightly-too-poppy metal. actually, maybe i am saying that.
but my question remains - is it better to be technically proficient at making sucky music, or to suck at making sucky music?
oh wait, the dude just started singing.
nevermind that technically proficient thing.
i think the singer who got kicked out of fuel may have just enrolled at my school.
