Minseok briefly recalls those sweet moments minutes before he had to face Luhan in armed combat. Frankly, he still doesn't understand why he originally allowed himself to agree to this idea to begin with. It was crazy, as much as he wanted to stay faithful to Yifan, he couldn't let his best friend down all because he knew these things were ultimately going to happen. As much as he didn't want to tell Luhan, 'I told you so,' it seemed like he really needed a real dose of reality for him to understand. But even that wouldn't stop Luhan. Determined as fuck.

Their weapons were ready. Minseok keeps asking him how on earth did Yifan manage to have weapons prior to this battle, and why did he even have weapons to begin with? Was it the idea of pre-destination? Did Yifan somehow knew that this was going to happen? That there would be a traitor amongst them? That the same traitor he knew would come would be from his own army of angels? So many questions, but asking Yifan wouldn't be such a good idea at this time. Besides, the rest of his mind was transfixed on something else - his battle with Luhan.

"What's keeping you, Baozi?" Luhan tries to taunt him, as much as he hates it, from the opposite side of the court.

Minseok calmly shakes his head to forget about all those things bothering him. The last thing he wants to happen is to really go all out with Luhan and be taunted from his actions. He doesn't hate Luhan from what he's done, no. Minseok feels apologetic because he doesn't want Luhan to leave, and yet he brought this upon himself and so he has to suffer the consequences.

"I'm ready," he softly replies. Nothing else was heard from then on except the clashing of adamantine swords and shields against each other. They were almost equal in terms of strength, and Minseok didn't even expect that from someone like Luhan. His seemingly weak body, petite frame and thin arms wouldn't expect such a strength like that to come out from them. Minseok clearly has his work cut out for him perfectly.

"I see you've had some training," Minseok strenously tries to interject, while their swords are perfectly balancing each other's attempts to attack each weak point that was being targeted. Minseok was a master of weak points, and with a body like Luhan's, he could spot them from afar. But Luhan seemed quicker and it looks as if he already knew what Minseok was originally after.

"I guess you can call it that way," Luhan replies calmly, as if brushing away some lint off his clothes. It seemed pretty easy for him to be facing Minseok in battle, when clearly everyone knows that facing Minseok in battle was not easy, and you'd be a fool to actually test him in combat.

But Luhan didn't care, he isn't a fool and he was going to prove that.

a/n: LMFAO THIS FIC i swear i typed this in my second year of uni after finishing paradise lost in full. (in this day and age i would never refer to minseok as baozi so !! my apologies)
