bar kochba caves
That afternoon we went directly from our hike/picnic/mike's birthday to some awesome caves
we actually drove by the field where david and goliath fought as well
then talked about some more "recent" jewish history, when the jews had to hide from the Romans. They made the caves we were in out, by connecting their cisterns and tunnelling like crazy, then hiding for a lot long time
this is the hole we climbed down
looking back up it...
the pictures get a little trippy, cause i was using "night mode" but with a flash, so the shutter stayed open longer, and things look cool/crazy
like that weird light effect is the light coming in from the tunnel i think, and peoples flashlights or flashes made awesome light things
though this one of brett just makes me a bit dizzy!
that light in the back is a camera flash! and i think the red-eyed demon thingie is jay
more and more of the group made it in!
we circled up around the mound
there was a hold-up with the crawling, and i ended up sitting in the entry to the tunnel for a while!
then danny followed me...
then we got to the "JCC" the big area,
then the standard cave style total darkness/total silence
