Wow. Tomorrow is my last day at NNPTC. Ever.
There is nothing that belongs to me on base.
My barracks room has been checked out.
The only thing left to do is spend an hour at the ceremony, turn in my badge, meal pass, and BEQ checkoutsheet, and pick up my orders from MM1.
Needless to say, this has me in a pretty excited state, and I am having just a little bit of trouble going to sleep tonight.
So overall in power school I ended up with a 3.76
1st in my section (of 27)
2nd amoung EMs (~80ish)
8th in the class (of 248)
I'm a little dissapointed that I didn't get the #1 EM slot, especially since i was only beaten out by about 30 points (out of the 8000 in power school). But, on the other side of things, many graduating classes have a class honor grad with a gpa less than mine. So... meh.
One really awesome thing though, is that our class only had 2 people fail comp (both of them mechanics [aka monkeys, knuckledraggers, dumbasses, etc.]), which is a new record in the history of NPS. So that was really stellar on the whole.
Hmmm... I drive back to Michigan on Sunday, and I should be up there for a week, maybe a week and a half, before coming back home. Yay!
And then on May 8th, I start at NPTU, which will be a blast! for the first 7 weeks we'll be in outhaul, where we are basically given a cubicle, check out tech manuals, read them, and then get oral checkouts of the material. Sounds like fun, eh? But its even better than it sounds! During outhaul my schedule will be:
Monday: 0730-1930
Tuesday: 0730-1930
Wednesday: 0730-1930
Thursday: 0730-1930
Friday: 0730-1530
Amazingly enough, that will actually be better than my average power school day. And at least now I can go home after work and not have to leave to enjoy myself a beer. Such a great feeling there. Anyways, I think I'm going to give this whole sleep thing another try.
Peace.
