I just had stitches removed today. Wait, no. Let me rephrase that. I had a stitch removed today. Two weeks ago I had an atypical dysplastic nevus cut off my butt. Yes, my butt. To be more specific, my lower left butt cheek. I was left with a cut about 1.5 inches long. Since it was in a weird spot it was hard to keep an eye on it and make sure everything was healing up properly. So, earlier this week I was finally able to permanently take off the bandage and to my horror it appeared as if my skin had healed over some of the stitches. It just looked like a scar with a little black thread hanging out of each end.
So I did what any grown woman would do: I called my mommy. I had her come over and inspect it for me. She said it looked like it was just one long thread that they would yank out. Wtf?! I was ok with the surgery, and the cutting, and the sewing up. But yanking out one long stitch from a 1.5 inch long cut? Surely not.
When I got to my doctors office today to have my "sticthes" removed I expressed my concern about the skin having grown over some of the stitches. The doc had a look. Newp. It looked just like it was suppose to. Know why? Because it WAS just one long stitch that had to be pulled out. AHHHHHH!
Needless to say, the stitch removal wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it was far from pleasant.
