March 12, 1920:

Arriving back here, I think, was one of the most peculiar things that has happened in quite a long time. My lovely robes were gone the moment I stepped over the threshold into the dank room I was keeping on the outskirts of Britain - I do suppose that Bar wanted them back. The door didn't stay - I looked over my shoulder a scarce few seconds after I walked through and it was the same hallway (creaky floorboards that kicked up dust when you tread on them) that I remember.

The poor fellow in the room was quite surprised...and quite upset that I interrupted his apparent services. But I was adamant not to leave and first managed to find where my things had gone. I wandered to the front desk lazily enough, checking outside - raining again, for my invisible audience's benefit - before I spoke up. Mr. Charlesmann seemed quite confused to see me again.

Apparently word had gotten out who I was and he'd assumed that I'd simply left about six months ago. Thankfully, he'd kept my things in storage and hadn't charged me the rent for the full six months. I did produce for him a tip in order to keep the man in my good graces. He'd even kept my mail.

Oddly enough, I managed not to miss my appointment with the British Government - they pushed it forward to a few days from today. It's not too far to London so I'll be able to make it in the required time - it's nice to feel at least somewhat rushed again. I have a feeling that things will get quite busy soon enough.

Note: Now one half year older here, apparently. At least I shall look younger. Things, I fear, will become more complicated than I would like them to...and The Anniversary is coming up soon. I shall depart in June to Carchemish to ensure that I do not miss it, no matter how I feel about going back to that place. It is necessary, and I would not miss such things.
