Today went by pretty uneventful actually. that is until I got to the board meeting. I've never been to a school board meeting, not that I can recall anyway and if i did go it didn't contain such importance as me going to this one. Mr. Sauder might lose his job in this meeting, there have been compliants from the football and wresling team, but not without good reason. I believe the real reason they complained was that those teams are screwed up as is, and he was just addressing them and that those teams bring in money for the school, the school will back them up. At the4 begining of the meeting, they had the pledge of alliance and spoke some legal mombo jumbo i didn't understand (nor care to try) and then came the public's speaking. i have but one word for it...
INCREDIBLE
there were fellow parents, students with over 100 support letters in hand for Sauder, teachers and school funed workers, and all others that spoke in Sauder's defence. Mr. Miller spoke really well, bringing attention to what Sauder has done for our school going above and beyond the call of work.
My dad spoke in a (how to put it) vieled threat, that got Mr. Juganow to respond to, hehe, how he was all, when voting season comes around, there's all these supporters who will look back to what was said at this and other meetings and think if they wish to vote for them again (there were a lot of supporters there too i might add.
Andrew, Carlos, Mike and I went up together to represent the fencing team, and spoke of how other teachers wouldn't even acknowledge fencing as a sport but how Sauder took the chance to see what a team we truely are, a winning first season at that. Ashley from field hockey came up to the mic to say a few words on his behalf and couldn't end it b/c of the emotion that choked her, even sobbed right at the mic. When Mr.Sauder addressed the board, from my seat, I could make out his shaking hands and his cracking voice of how it was an honor to serve PV.
When the board went to vote on if he got to keep his job, I swear it was like out of a movie the way they drew it out, but as the votes turned to affirmatives, and one left, the head of the board spoke of how she was impressed with all the students here to support Mr. Sauder and with that picked up the mallet, voted yes and knocked it. I didn't know i was holding my breath until it let out in a whoop and standing ovation! the public went wild with cheers, a small recess called and Mr. Sauder even came up to me all red eyed and emotional looking, reached out his hand and said " thank you, thank you for supporting me."
ive never felt so proud like that in a long while,to make a great night even better i went to barnes and noble with the millers for coffee and books =^_^=
andrew was being all joking, 'twas phun! Even though it rained on the way back (no thunder *tear*tear) it was great!
Oh and just to rub in all those that wanted Sauder to lose his job, if you really were against him keeping it, why didn't you speak? were you afraid of what would be said against you? Good! And I hope they read this, I'll have so much phun bashing them like "If you were so strongly opposed to it, why weren't you there? Guess it wasn't so important for him to lose his job after all."
i love being vindictive =^_^=
til nxt rambling,
k
