Damn and Double Damn.

I was in the city today, going for a walk, and decided to slip between a break in traffic instead of waiting for the lights to change. Of course, when crossing the road, I flicked my head sharply to check on something and my sunglasses flew off my head onto the road and one of the $300 prescription lenses popped out and skidded away across the tarmac. I had to sprint back across the road and pick the lens off the ground before a Ute could run it down.

Luckily, after about ten minutes of messing about, I managed to get the curved glass to pop back into place (they were specially laser cut, hence the cost) so there was only a little bit of scratching on the surface. And I thought to myself, wow, that was a lucky break and continued on my merry way.
I did the rest of my errands and headed home, only to discover that, at some point during the day, when switching between my regular glasses and my sunglasses, I somehow over shot the pocket on my bag without noticing and dropped my glasses on the ground. I didn't notice until two hours later, when I was home and getting ready to go to the movies, and realised I couldn't see a damn thing.

Gah.

Today was not a good day to be a pair of my glasses, clearly.
Now I have to hope there’s somewhere that processes prescriptions in a few days so I can get a new pair before the weekend, otherwise the production of Cats I’ve been looking forward to is going to be a damn sight blurrier than I expected it to be.

damnation!
