Had a pretty busy weekend and a lot of action on PLD, which was kind of a nice change. Friday's Nyzul runs we had a rep in for Loki, which made our lineup WAR/NIN, DRG/WAR, DRG/WHM, THF/NIN, WHM/SCH, RDM/BLM. We got a few bad floor layout draws, with huuuuuge floors of Kill All or lamps with gears we had to avoid. Also got another Askar Korazin dorp, which Shagg won with a 996 lot. At this point I'm betting on leaving this floor 80 cycle with either a Goliard Saio or Denali Jacket, neither of which I can use. I don't even have a mannequin I could put 'em on. Cerb continues to be an annoying bastard, and I'm really starting to wonder if our floor 100 runs are going to end up being a lot of frustration. I don't know why it's working out this way, but he is the boss we draw about 7 times out of 10. Gates of Hades is so going to suck.
Saturday we had a Sky farming run. It was weirdly empty up there. I think we only ran into one other group farming, at Despot camp, and that was some of the people I'm currently going on Dynamis with. We goofed around in /say and emotes a bit and after a while they moved to some other NM camp. I felt a little weird with them seeing me on PLD, especially getting examined by a few of them who are the main PLDs for the shell. Overall our run was successful, we were able to get Zip, Faust, Despot, popped BB, and got ourselves a Diorite. The Faust fight is about 1,000x more fun for me when I get to tank him. Despot...Not so much with the annoying Panzerfaust three times in the span of about 2 seconds.
Sunday afternoon we put together a level-synch party for a few hours, synched to
konoruck's 65 MNK. While tanking an exp party is certainly no huge technical accomplishment, I still enjoyed the challenge of trying to hold hate vs. a MNK and 2 DRGs, all of whom I know are good players.
lokiseinn &
iniadelphinae weren't taking it easy by any means, and I can always use more practice on PLD.
Lately I've been considering replacing < me > with < stpc > on my PLD cure macros, but I'm a little leery of doing so for a couple of reasons. I think it could help with quicker targeting for cures to party/alliance members, but at the same time I'm a little worried about the extra keystroke it would also mean for normal self-curing. Also, is there any quick keystroke method that would allow me to target alliance members, like how the F-keys let you target party members? Along the same lines, I wonder if I'd end up screwing up a time-sensitive cure spell, on either myself or someone else, by trying to be too clever with this method. Right now I either use the spell menu & F-keys to target other people, or just type out the command line /ma 'cure III/cure IV/etc' name. That works okay most times unless I end up with a typo in the command line, but I still feel like it could possibly improve my speed with the < stpc >.
Dynamis - Xarc which was scheduled for Sunday night got cancelled. Not a huge loss, for me at least, but kind of too bad all the same. Since it would have been un-sponsored there might have been the chance to get a couple of singles through auto-sort but overall... Farming in Xarc usually blows. Still, I did get at least some currency this weekend: I found a bazaar Sunday afternoon on the way out to the synch party with Bronzepieces fairly cheap, so I bought all 10 of them. Between that and a few more I've got floating around on mules, I'm now close to my 23rd M. Silverpiece! It's at least progress, and every little bit helps.
Got to decide still whether tonight is more farming/crafting, or trying to get more IS & merit points...
