So I thought I would make a post about things. Let's see, my daughter is now 13 and in middle school. Yikes, yep I know scary isn't it? Soon she'll be driving. At least I can hold cleaning her room over her head for something she cares about at that age. Maybe by then, hygeine will have entered her brain and vocabulary. I'm not holding my breath though.
I'm still working at HFS as a support engineer. I'm very happy with the job, the challenges and the benefits. So I'm not really going anywhere anytime soon. I'm learning more and more about sql everyday. Not sure if that's a good thing or not but it's what we do, maintain databases. The people I work with are crazy and wonderful so I am blessed!
I recently went to the doctor and got a blood test. I was told I have high blood sugar. So as a result I have been diligently walking 2 miles a day plus any extra walks at night after work. I also have cut out the whites, the breads the rices and sugars. I've almost lost 10% of my body weight. So I'm excited about that and my blood sugar levels are normal now. Do I have some of that stuff every once in a while, YES! But I had to do some investigation.
For example, I can go to a Mexican restraunt and eat chips and salsa, but if I went to a Chinese restraunt and had rice -- it makes me sleepy, I have get up and walk immediately after the meal or I'm a zombie for an hour. So it took a bit of getting used to but I am learning which carbs I can have and which I cannot.
I frequent Richmond, KY often to visit my Aunt Ruth, about every 3 months I'd say. And I love it! We just adore each other and we always will. She's the best. Mama got a job for a meds company and is at their main headquarters in Belgium this week doing some training --- yeah it's a hard knock life for her :P She's loving this new job.
Nick and I celebrated our 3rd year anniversary yesterday. It's tough though with no money and tons of bills. But we're dealing and making it. Our love is stronger now than ever before. I guess you gotta go through the mud to get to what's real.
How is everyone else?
