I got the report back from the radiologist today about my nuclear medicine test of doom. Man, that was freaky. Nothing like having a doctor walk into a room with a syringe covered in radioactive warning symbols. I almost left right there.
Ok, for those of you with no clue what I'm talking about, I had to have this scan done of my gallbladder. They inject you with a radioactive compound that goes directly to your gallbladder, then you lay flat on your back for an hour and a half underneath a camera that detects radiation and takes a new picture every minute.
Anyway, I received the report today. This is the noteworthy part:
"Post CCK, the gallbladder ejection fraction is 6% maximum. Expected normal response is 35% or higher."
35%-75% actually. So I'm thinking 6% is probably not so good.
I'll find out for sure on Thursday what the plan of action is, but I really don't care at this point. Whatever will make me stop having random attacks of pain would be great. If that involves surgery, fine. JUST MAKE IT STOP.
In other news, I think I can safely say that we finished our Christmas shopping today. As soon as I finish typing this and posting it in various places, I'm going to work on finishing my gift wrapping and prepping my packages to mail out.
