It was well known that Kaiba did not seem the party type, unless of course you were talking about the younger Kaiba brother. So everyone was in different forms of shock when the elder Kaiba came along with Mokuba to Yuugi’s annual Christmas party. Yami of course was first to snap out of it, and soon both men were barking out insults to each other, at first Mokuba and Yuugi tried to break it up but in the end decided to stay out of it.
Everyone was there, and by everyone that included Honda who was in a deep discussion with Anzu, Ryou who was trying and failing to keep Bakura from spiking something with liquor, Yuugi and Yami who still was in a stare down with Seto, Jounouchi who was showing Mokuba some of the food that was displayed for them. This had to be the third party that Yuugi thrown for the holidays, and since the younger Kaiba and the gang had quickly became friends therefore Mokuba was invited and since Mokuba rarely went anywhere without his elder brother, both Kaibas were invited, one was just more or less guilted into coming.
After a bit the ex-pharaoh and the elder Kaiba grew tired of the stare down and both settled down on the couch to watch the rest, as for never were very good in social event. Ryou managed to get Bakura away from the refreshments, who only knows what damage the yami had already done, and forced him to sit in between the other two dark beings. After a bit the entire group was sitting together lively chatting and a few games were started. For some reason they were soon involved into singing some Christmas songs, of course none of them were very good.
At some point of the party Jounouchi had placed a Santa hat onto Seto’s head, earning the blonde a fierce glare who quickly ran behind Ryou to hide. Seto still wearing the hat, was alone on the couch since the two yamis had joined the group in the singing. It was when a certain song came on that made everyone pause before Bakura barked out a laugh followed by Yami, before anyone could stop it Jounouchi stood up and dramatically began to act out as he sang the lyrics. “You’re a mean one....Mr. Grinch~!” Soon everyone was singing along, as Jounouchi sat next to the elder Kaiba his honey eyes sparkling. “Mutt.” “Grinch.” Mokuba soon bounced over and soon was making small talk with his brother in attempts to get his stoic brother to have some fun.
Nearing the end of the party, someone suggested they all do a toast with eggnog to celebrate the holiday and their friendship. So glasses were filled with the frothy drink and everyone raised their glasses for the toast and took a drink. Then promptly spat the drink out. After he finished gagging, Ryou smacked a cackling Bakura upside the head for spiking the eggnog. Only Yami and Seto seemed unfazed by the spiked drink, while Anzu, Yuugi, Jounouchi and Mokuba seemed to be turning green from the drink. Honda simply gagged from the taste before testing it again when his stomach settled. At least this year there was no mistletoe...
