I had asked my mom to come with me to the vet, which was good on two points: a] She went through this same exact thing with my Grandmother's dog and knew what Dr. Clayton was saying. b] She was mostly there to support me because of how many times I got emotional XD [I cried so much over the past two days]
When we got to the vet..my dog had one of her attacks and one of the nurses ran out to help us. I caught my dog before she slammed her head against the sidewalk. Then when we got inside the waiting room, she had another attack, another nurse came to help because Heidi threw up and peed herself. Dr. Clayton came out and talked to us, and had asked the nurse at the front desk to watch Heidi to see if she has another one so that they know what happens during it. After about 20 minutes, and some interesting talked with the other animal owners, we were called into the vet's room. We just finished weighing Heidi when she had another attack, this time there were two nurses with us and they were able to tell Dr. Clayton what happened, though my mom did say "You know I feel the same way after I get weighed in at the doctor's too!"
Dr. Clayton when she came back ordered some x-rays done, so my mom and I were sent back to waiting room. We talked with the elderly couple with the dashund, then we were called back into the area were they keep the animals that have to stay overnight and where they do the testing, to show us the x-rays. From what we saw, she has what looks like a tumor in her heart. Her heart was larger then it should be, it was closer to the sterum then it should be, and in one of the slides there was a good amount of spotting that shouldn't be there.
I feel bad that I have to go to work today.
Dr. Clayton suggested some things. But in the end we can't afford to do it, even worst my mom decided "I will not pay anymore" Considering how much she already paid for my dog's vet bill. Understandable.
I come to decide that I will try to allow Heidi at least to January and give her a peaceful life before I put her down. If she gets worst before then I will put her down sooner. But I feel if she lives a nice quiet life she won't suffer as much. I am going to spoil her and pamper her rotten!
I talked with Miyu and she made me feel better, I told her I found a nice black marble urn that I will get for her, it'll cost me about 80$ but its better then brass or the other ones I found. and I'll call up the funeral home again and get the price for my dog again, since I know her weight.
