Some possibly-good news...
I discovered something when I went to turn in my applications today...
That I know the girl who's taking care of the applications at one of them...have known my whole life... She was one of my older sister's best friends from church. She was all "Oh, hey! I didn't know YOU picked up an application! Lemme take a look at this and we'll call you." when I went in to turn it in. And the yay thing is, they sell my base-oil that I use. So if she hires me, I could totally get a discount on some of the stuff I need.
