Dear Blizzard,
Your rock.
I have recently been talking about how much I enjoy early game WoW. The narrow focus, the sense of place in a greater picture without being overshadowed by the difficulty to experience the picture, the freedom to imagine the quests as I want to, the quests flowing together well, the players running around that level interested in grouping, the way that the quest gear makes you excited.
I have played Burning Crusade for 6 hours.
It's like being back in Elwynn Woods again, only instead of being the tier 1 footman, I am the fully upgraded knight. I am the paladin that the warriors huddle around. I AM a legend, a massively powerful individual, and yet the focus is so narrow that I am a legend among others, sweating bleeding and dying for the cause. Seeing Trollsbane, the Lothar monument, the Fel-Orcs... Being one of the first on my server to burst into the Ramparts... The first quest reward that blew my Stratholme gear away... Raiding an orc town, and fighting as if I were really in the RTS.
Side note about the orc town. The respawn rate is insane. Good. There were so many people there, and yet it wasn't extremely hard to find kills - you just sort of set up shop, and there respawns allowed us to just continue to fight in that region.
Congratulations on an epic follow up to a great game. I only hope your ability to make good games does not impede my work or my education.
Sincerely,
Brandon
