Round Three! Fight!

And so begins my third year at Centre. Classes started today, meaning I'll have more time to update and work on side projects, because of my weird "productivity through other things." For instance, right now I'm updating LJ so I don't have to start on my Greek. Go me.

I had Greek and American Lit today, both classes I don't have too much of a worry about. Greek is something I want, while American Lit is a freshmen course in my major. Plus, the teacher seems interesting; the easiest way to describe him is an older Viggo Mortinson with darker hair and a PHD. It's amusing.

I had to fully face how academically grabby I am... About how I attach to ideas and run them into the ground, and also how I want knowledge of some things. When I had Greek, the professor started the normal method of teaching a language - Drop the student directly in with no clue, and make him scrounge for cognates or context clues.

Listening to it, I realized I wanted it. I want to be able to read and speek Greek. I want knowledge about this. It's obscure, trivial, and probably useless, but I want it.

And now I'm going to go work on my alpha-beta-gammas.
