Actually, I beat it once or twice without using Spam. Go dead pirate killer combos and awesome use of the 3rd dimention!

Yeah, the third dimension is necessary for beating spam; if you can wait for an opening, it becomes a matter of recovery. It is doable, and to be honest the spam needs to be used as a finisher.
