Been spending Labor Day weekend in NYC.
Went to Broadway shows. And the US Open!!!
Oh my God, I forgot how fun it can be just to be there!!!!
So I saw NAdal this morning, practicing!
He came over to sign some stuffs. I didn't get anything signed, just took a picture of him. Maybe... just maybe... next time?
I've been writing comments on his blog, and he even answered my question about La Bamba!! Awesome! He's the world number one and yet he seems so approachable.
This girl was telling us how shy he really is. A couple of days ago, just as he finished practice, he was about to sign autographs when this girl screamed and wailed at him. He turned around and made a beeline for the Arthur Ashe stadium right away!!
Anyway, aside from Nadal, we also saw Amelie Mauresmo, and Fernando Verdasco, Feliciano Lopez (these two guys didn't even stop to give their autographs!!) and last but not least, Rafa's opponent for the day, Sam Querrey!
I am so tired tonight, but I have to write all of this because or else I would not remember anything.
I met these lovely couples tonight at the Billie Jean King tennis center. They were so nice, they remind me of my uncles and aunts. They're well-traveled, very decent, very humble people. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out they're millionaires from somewhere... They talked about their houses in Long Island, in Florida... oy... Before I forget, their names were Dennis and Karen, Shirley and Bud? (oh God, he's the most talkative one, and yet I can't remember HIS name!!!)
I simply cannot stay awake to give you commentary on Nadal's game, but all I can say is that I am so glad he won! Mardy won't be an easy opponent, but I think Rafa can beat him next!
What a vacation it has been!
The match started at 1.34pm, ended at 4.58pm!
