Microsoft talk at UCR
Microsoft is trying to hire out of the UCR... I was using my laptop running Ubuntu in silent protest...
There were times where I wanted to chuck some of the stuff he mentioned. The speaker said he worked on Windows CE which turned into Windows Mobile... immediately, I had the impulse to chuck my goddamn work Motorola Q at his head.
The fact that he emphasized in needing to be a great programmer and that programmers should have good coding ethics and standards... fun, coming from a guy who's software is not structured in that fashion.
Ugh... he mentioned protection technologies... evil...
He did give an insight to the gaming industry in terms of the Microsoft view.
"Graphics is king" -- at Microsoft apparently.
Graphics engineers need good 3D math skills
They should have written vertex and pixel shaders.
Asked a question about PhotoSynth -- only one person raised their hand. Sounds cool tech, but we'll see how well they come up with it.
