What a wonderful weekend! We traveled to Frankfurt to see two old friends and meet one new one.
Dinner with
skyring and
elhamisabel and BLu177 was filled with laughter and travel tales, and it ended with Tim Tams and coffee. I even got to take some Tim Tams home with me. I shall have them tomorrow with a proper cup of coffee. Silly me ordered a cappuccino and had to wait for the foam to go before I could get in a proper "slam".
I managed to come home with a few books and to pass on a few for travel to the States. No idea where they will end up, but I look forward to the journey, as always.
We also spent some time shopping and swimming. We stayed at the same hotel as we did a few weeks ago, because the pool does not close until tomorrow. So we had a few lovely hours spent floating and sliding and being very silly. Oh, and we had wonderful Thai food. I had green curry and it was spicy. Germans don't do spicy, so my hopes were pretty small, but I loved it, and did not need to add any spice. We were all very happy, and it was a perfect way to end our weekend.
Ok, really our weekend ended at a PX (military store) two hours from home where we bought a belt for our vaccum cleaner and ate Taco Bell, but really that does not count. It was more of a food/fuel stop which was better than stopping at the rest stop on A3.
