Black History Month
AHAA this year was all kinds of fun but i think it gets lamer every year. I thnk John singing Ray Charles was the best part. The room on Carnivale/Mardi Gras was dumb. come on...Jester hats? please. I much as i love jugglers, bells on pointy shoes and spandex...That was a waste of construction paper. I think a lot of the topics covered kinda missed the point. People should've done more homework before presenting 'cause the American room was kinda pointless and the Mardi Gras room wasn't very informative or interesting. Maybe i should stop complaining. and maybe i should've signed up to do a room. The guest speaker was Jonas' godfather and pretty damn cool. I wish i had relatives or friend's of the family I was really close with. But that's really my problem. I haven't really gone out of my way to make friends. It doesn't matter all that much cause i get along with most people that come my way.
Okay, back to black history month. Sometimes i think Race history months are unecessary. but sometimes i think its nice. It pissed me off when marianne said that white people always complain "Why do black people get their own month? There is no white history month!" then she said that "Everyday is white history." True and untrue. I hate when people complain about who gets which month and how long...i think its all pretty insignificant in the long run of things. I feel like they should be arguing about something more important instead. Like the AIDS epidemic or crappy rappers on MTV singing about their bitches and hoes and courvoisier or how much Zora Neale Hurston rules. I really really really really wish someone would tell me what the fuck is so attractice about 50 cent. I mean..i've tried listening to his music and i just don't understand his popularity. yeah, its a little catchy...but i don't see the talent.
